From chat to action.
In three steps.

A lightweight browser extension and a local bridge connect the conversation to your workspace.

  1. Set up AgenticNova

Download the bridge for Windows or Linux and load the same AgenticNova extension in Chrome or Edge. Activate with your license key. A macOS package is available through support. Follow the install guide.

  2. Connect your tools

Enable Roblox Studio or add a compatible MCP server. Approve the folders you want the built-in file or terminal tools to work in.

  3. Start the conversation

Open a supported AI chat, start an agent session, and describe what you want to build. DeepSeek is the recommended starting point.

A valid AgenticNova license key and an internet connection are required. Your AI provider’s usage limits and terms still apply.

Get AgenticNova
into your browser.

Sideloading means loading the extension from a folder on your computer. Follow these steps in desktop Chrome or Microsoft Edge on Windows, Linux, or macOS.

First, choose your operating system.

Both native downloads include the bridge and the browser extension. The Windows package has AgenticNova.exe; Linux has AgenticNova and Linux_Start.sh. Neither requires a separate Python installation. Contact BytArch for a license key or the macOS bridge package.

On Windows, right-click the ZIP and choose Extract All. On Linux, use Extract Here in your archive manager, then follow the Linux steps below. On macOS, extract the package supplied by support in Finder. Keep all extracted files in a permanent folder, not inside an archive or temporary location.

The folder you’ll select
agenticnova-extension

For the Windows ZIP, look inside the extracted dist folder. For Linux, look beside AgenticNova and Linux_Start.sh after fully extracting the package. Check that manifest.json is directly inside agenticnova-extension. Select this folder, not its parent, an archive, or the manifest file itself.

Linux: unpack, launch, connect.

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS · x86-64

Use the Linux ZIP, not the Windows EXE. Other distributions and ARM64 are not part of this initial target.

  1. Fully extract the download

Extract AgenticNova-Linux-x86_64.zip with your archive manager. If it contains AgenticNova-Linux-x86_64.tar.gz and a checksum file, extract that .tar.gz too; the GitHub artifact ZIP wraps the actual release archive.

For the inner archive, you can also run this from its folder:

    tar -xzf AgenticNova-Linux-x86_64.tar.gz

Open the extracted application folder containing AgenticNova, Linux_Start.sh, config.json, and agenticnova-extension. Move the complete folder somewhere permanent under your home directory. It must be user-writable; do not use /usr/bin or run the bridge as root.

  2. Allow execution and start the bridge

Open a terminal in that application folder. ZIP extraction can lose executable permissions, so run:

    chmod +x AgenticNova Linux_Start.sh
    ./Linux_Start.sh

Keep this terminal open while AgenticNova runs. A supported desktop shows a tray menu for status, logs, license management, and Quit. The same native binary can be started directly with ./AgenticNova.

  3. No tray icon? Use console mode

First stop the existing bridge with Ctrl+C, then run:

    ./Linux_Start.sh --console

No display or no menu-capable backend falls back to console mode automatically. Some GNOME desktops need AppIndicator and KStatusNotifierItem Support enabled to display the tray. Console mode also works without a tray; press Ctrl+C to quit.

  4. Load the extension and activate

Follow the Chrome or Edge instructions below and select the extracted agenticnova-extension folder. Open the AgenticNova extension popup and enter your valid license key, or use Enter license key in the tray. Keep your internet connection available for license validation.

Open a supported AI chat and refresh it. Start with the built-in filesystem and terminal tools. Leave Roblox disabled on Linux: its bundled launcher uses Windows cmd.exe, and Roblox Studio has no official native Linux release. See a Linux first-session example.

Google Chrome

  1. Open the extensions page

Copy chrome://extensions into Chrome’s address bar and press Enter. Or open the browser menu → Extensions → Manage Extensions.

  2. Enable Developer mode

Turn on Developer mode in the top-right corner. The extension-loading controls will appear.

  3. Load the extension folder

Click Load unpacked. Find the extracted agenticnova-extension folder and select it. Confirm the folder selection.

  4. Check that AgenticNova is enabled

You should see an AgenticNova extension card with its toggle on. For quick access, open the puzzle-piece Extensions menu and pin AgenticNova to the toolbar.

Chrome’s official sideloading instructions

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open the extensions page

Copy edge://extensions into Edge’s address bar and press Enter. Or open the three-dot menu → Extensions → Manage extensions.

  2. Enable Developer mode

Turn on the Developer mode toggle on the extensions page, usually in the left sidebar.

  3. Load the extension folder

Click Load unpacked. Select the extracted agenticnova-extension folder, then choose Select Folder or your system’s equivalent.

  4. Check that AgenticNova is enabled

The AgenticNova extension card should be enabled. Open the Extensions menu and use the pin or show-in-toolbar control for quick access.

Edge’s official sideloading instructions

Browser settings addresses must be pasted into the address bar; websites cannot open them for you. This guide does not cover Firefox, Safari, or mobile browsers. Only sideload packages you trust.

Installed? Connect the local bridge next.

  1. Run the bridge. On Windows, open dist/AgenticNova.exe from the extracted package. On Linux, run ./Linux_Start.sh as described above. On macOS, request the macOS bridge package and open its MacOS_Start.command. The Windows EXE cannot run natively on Linux or macOS. Leave the bridge running while you use AgenticNova.
  2. Activate with your license key. In the AgenticNova extension popup, enter your valid key and click Activate. Alternatively, use Enter license key in the tray/menu-bar menu. The extension popup also works when Linux is in console mode. An internet connection is required. Installing the extension alone does not activate AgenticNova.
  3. Open a supported chat. Start with DeepSeek. Refresh any chat tab that was already open when you installed the extension. The AgenticNova bar should appear above the chat input. Enable your tools in MCP servers, then choose Start agent. For Roblox, open a place in Studio and enable Studio’s MCP server as well.

If something doesn’t look right

“Manifest file is missing or unreadable”

Fully extract the ZIP first. Select the agenticnova-extension folder that directly contains manifest.json, not its parent folder. Don’t edit the manifest to work around an error; if the official package is incomplete, contact support.

The AgenticNova bar isn’t appearing

Check that AgenticNova is enabled on the extensions page, then reload the supported chat website in a normal browser window. Allow access to that supported site if your browser asks. The extension does not run on arbitrary websites or the browser’s settings pages. If the bar reports that the bridge is offline, run the bridge and check your license activation.

Developer mode or Load unpacked is unavailable

A work or school browser may block sideloading through organization policy. Ask your administrator for approval or use your own permitted browser profile. Do not bypass your organization’s security controls. If your operating system blocks the bridge, verify the official download and contact BytArch before proceeding.

Linux: permission denied, missing libraries, or no tray

Run chmod +x AgenticNova Linux_Start.sh in the fully extracted application folder. If it is on a drive mounted noexec, move the complete folder to an executable, user-writable location under your home directory. If the error says “Exec format error,” verify that your computer is x86-64 and that you downloaded the Linux package.

If desktop libraries are missing on Ubuntu 24.04, install these OS packages:

sudo apt-get install libgtk-3-0t64 libayatana-appindicator3-1 xdg-utils

No tray host? Use ./Linux_Start.sh --console and activate in the extension popup. Do not launch a second bridge on the same port. Read logs/bridge_debug.log beside the binary and share the error with support, without your license key.

How do I update or remove the sideloaded extension?

Sideloaded extensions do not update through the web store. Stop the agent and bridge before updating, and follow the release instructions. If you replace the extension files in the same folder, click Reload on its extension card, then refresh your chat tabs. If the folder moves, remove the old extension and use Load unpacked with the new folder. To uninstall, click Remove on the AgenticNova card. Removing the extension does not cancel a subscription.

Ready to create? Follow the guide to your first AgenticNova session.

Your first session.
From idea to action.

Extension installed? Here’s how to connect your tools, give the agent a task, and stay in control of the work.

Before you start: install the extension, run the local bridge, and activate it with a valid AgenticNova license key. Keep your internet connection available throughout the session.

  1. Open a new AI chat

Use one of the supported provider sites above and sign in with your own account if needed. We recommend DeepSeek for your first session. Start in a new, empty chat rather than an old conversation. Look for the AgenticNova bar above the chat input.

On Arena, choose Direct mode. Battle, Side-by-Side, and Agent modes are not supported by AgenticNova.

  2. Choose the tools for this task

Open the menu on the AgenticNova bar, next to the provider name, and find MCP servers. Use Enable or Disable to choose your integrations. Built-in filesystem and terminal servers start enabled with no folder access; Roblox Studio and VS Code start disabled. At least one server must be connected and offer tools before you can start.

  3. Start the agent and describe one clear task

Click Start agent, wait for the session to initialize, then type your request into the normal chat input. Name the project, folder or Studio object, the change you want, and anything that should stay untouched. Start small and let the agent inspect the project before editing.

Keep the chat tab in the foreground. AgenticNova may pause automatic requests when the tab is hidden; bring it back to the front to continue.

  4. Read the results and respond to approvals

Tool results appear in the chat. For file work, the agent asks you to approve a project folder with an Allow / Deny card. Terminal access has a separate approval even when file access is already granted. Check the path and requested access before choosing Allow. Ignoring or closing an approval does not grant access.

Terminal approval covers commands for the session, not individual commands. They run with your account’s permissions and are not sandboxed to the folder. Folder grants expire when the bridge or server restarts.

  5. Review the work, then stop or refine

Check the actual files or your Studio place and test the result. Tracked built-in filesystem edits show a Changes card; open Review changes from the AgenticNova menu for saved diffs and manual Undo. Undo can refuse if you edited a file afterward. Terminal and Roblox operations are not individual file-undo entries.

Send a focused follow-up to refine the result, or click Stop on the AgenticNova bar. Wait for Stopping to finish: an in-flight operation may still complete. Stop does not undo work already done. Stop the agent before manual undo, recovery, or changing server configuration.

Connect the workspace you want to use

Roblox Studio: connect your place

The bundled Roblox launcher is for Windows. On Linux, leave it disabled and use files, terminal tools, or Linux-compatible MCP integrations instead.

  1. Open Roblox Studio and load the place you want to work on. Save a backup before asking the agent to make changes.
  2. In Studio, open Assistant AI, open its settings/three-dot menu, and find Manage MCP Servers (or MCP Servers in Assistant Settings). Enable Studio as MCP Server. Labels can vary with Studio updates.
  3. In AgenticNova’s MCP servers section, press Enable for Roblox. Wait until the bar reports usable tools, then start your agent session.
  4. Ask it to inspect the place first. Then request a small change to a specific script or object and play-test the result in Studio. File undo does not restore Studio’s in-memory place.
Files and terminal: approve a project folder

The built-in servers need no separate Node.js installation. Start a session and give the agent the full path to your project folder; it will request folder approval when needed. Grant file access for reading and editing. Only grant terminal access if you also want commands or tests. Ask the agent to use the project’s documented test command. Never include your license key or other secrets in a prompt.

Other MCP tools: import a trusted configuration

Stop the agent. Install any software required by the MCP server’s own documentation. In MCP servers, paste its complete mcpServers JSON into Paste MCP configuration. Read the command preview, then click Import to save it and restart the bridge. Alternatively, use a name and start command with Add server. Wait for the server to connect before starting a new agent session. Configurations execute commands on your computer; only import ones you trust. Commands using npx need Node.js/npm.

Workspace checkpoints: optional recovery, not a backup

With Git installed, AgenticNova can capture local workspace checkpoints for approved folders. Open Review changes to inspect available checkpoints. Before restoring, stop the agent and other writers, preview all replacements and new files to be removed, then explicitly confirm the restore. No automatic restore happens after a failed test. Checkpoints exclude ignored files and other unsupported content; they do not restore Studio’s in-memory place, external databases, or network effects. Commands still run if capture is unavailable, so keep independent backups.

A first session on Linux.

Files + terminal

Keep ./Linux_Start.sh (or console mode) running and activate in the extension popup. In a new supported AI chat, leave filesystem and terminal enabled, leave Roblox disabled, and click Start agent.

Give the agent an existing, absolute Linux project path such as /home/alex/Projects/MyGame; replace it with your own path. Ask it to inspect the README before making changes. Check the exact folder in each Allow / Deny card. File access does not grant terminal access.

If you want tests, grant terminal access separately and ask for the project’s documented test command. Linux terminal tools use sh or bash, not Windows cmd commands. Built-ins need neither Python nor Node.js installed; external npx integrations need Node.js/npm, and workspace checkpoints require Git.

Review file diffs and test results, then click Stop and wait for any in-flight work to finish. To close the bridge, choose Quit in the tray or press Ctrl+C in its terminal. Restarting clears folder grants; approve them again next session. Commands are not sandboxed, and stopping never undoes completed work.

Try a specific first prompt

These are example requests, not guarantees. Use your own project paths and only the tools you’ve connected.

For Roblox Studio
“Inspect my open place and tell me how the lighting is configured. Then add a day-and-night cycle without changing my existing gameplay scripts.”
For project files
“Work in C:/Projects/MyGame. Ask for file access, read the README, and explain the project structure before making any changes.”
For Linux project files
“Work in /home/alex/Projects/MyGame. Ask for file access, read the README, and explain the project structure before editing. Leave Roblox disabled.”
For testing a change
“Ask for terminal access to my project folder, run the test command documented in its README, and report the result. Don’t install dependencies or change files without discussing it first.”

Prompt instructions guide the AI; they are not permission barriers. Review approvals and results yourself.

Understand the status before retrying

Bridge offline or license rejected

Make sure the local bridge is running and check its tray/menu-bar status or Linux terminal output. If it is unlicensed, use Enter license key in the tray or extension popup and verify that the key is valid and your internet connection works. Expired, revoked, or unconfirmed licenses disable tools. Use Reconnect bridge in the extension popup after fixing the connection, or contact BytArch. Never post your key in an AI chat or a public screenshot.

No MCP server connected, or Roblox isn’t ready

Enable at least one MCP server and wait for it to expose usable tools. For Roblox, verify that Studio is open, a place is loaded, and Studio’s MCP option is enabled. For another server, check its required software and configuration. If you need to restart servers, stop the agent first, use Restart MCP servers, and approve folders again afterward.

The AI replies without using tools, or the session is paused

If no agent is active, open a new chat and click Start agent. If the bar says Paused, bring the chat tab to the foreground. A Waiting status can be normal request pacing. Remind an active agent to use its connected tools, or stop and start in a fresh chat if the conversation has drifted. Gemini and Kimi may be less reliable in long tool sessions. Respect provider rate limits, sign-in prompts, and usage terms; AgenticNova does not bypass them.

A few things
worth knowing.

New to AgenticNova?
Start here.

What is AgenticNova?

AgenticNova is a browser extension and local bridge that connect supported AI chat websites to tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It is published and developed by BytArch Labs.

Do I need a license key to use AgenticNova?

Yes. A valid AgenticNova license key is required to activate the local bridge and use its tools. An internet connection is required for license validation. For license or activation help, email BytArch support or message us on WhatsApp.

Do I need an AI API key?

No AI API key is needed. AgenticNova works inside supported AI chat websites using your existing chat account. That is separate from the AgenticNova license key, which is required. Your chat provider’s limits and terms still apply.

Is it only for Roblox Studio?

No. Roblox Studio is a supported integration, but AgenticNova can also connect compatible MCP servers for files, terminal commands, Blender, Godot, databases, and other tools. Some third-party servers have their own setup requirements.

Which browsers and systems can I use?

The browser extension works with desktop Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Native downloads are available for Windows and Linux; the initial Linux target is Ubuntu 24.04 LTS on x86-64, not ARM64. Follow the Linux setup guide. Contact support for the macOS bridge. Third-party MCP servers may need additional software such as Node.js.

Can I use Roblox Studio on Linux?

AgenticNova’s file and terminal tools run natively on Linux, but Roblox Studio has no official native Linux release. Leave the bundled Windows Roblox launcher disabled and connect Linux-compatible tools instead. Linux support does not add Wine or Roblox compatibility.

How does workspace access work?

Built-in file and terminal tools require separate folder approvals. File edits have review and manual undo; terminal commands are not sandboxed and can affect files outside the approved starting folder. Folder grants expire when the bridge or server restarts.
